Telephone Counseling Can Be Effective For:

    - Those who live busy lives.

    - Those who may not want to drive across town in traffic to a counseling office.

    - Those seeking a reasonable rate.

    - Those without a significant mental health issue who simply need an hour with a trusted confidant during the week.

"I don't care about how much you know, until I know how much you care."

This quote has been used in various therapetuic circles for over 20 years. It sums up the ethos of Journey of Hope Counseling.

The world is filled with hurting people. Disappointment, failure, grief and brokeness are all too common for anyone who journeys through life. Relationships can be the greatest source of fulfillment, and yet can also be the source of so much pain and bewilderment. Even for those who make the "right choices" in life are not immune to suffering.

The list of pitfalls could go on and on: Divorce, family break-ups, addictions, depression, abuse, meaning of life issues, to name just a few. Of course, the ordinary stresses of parenting, marriage, work/career and other life responsbilities are enough to bring on disillusionment. It is easy to become weary.

Many Americans live lonely and isolated lives.

Sometimes the benefits of counseling are immediate, especially when one can talk through things in a safe and confidential environment with someone who understands. Sometimes speaking with a professional can take some of the power away from the issue that seems to have a grip on us.

Frequently I hear variations of this question in therapy:

"Do other people struggle with this same thing?"

Yes! Yes! The answer is yes!

Chances are you're simply going through a rough time and have no one to talk to. Your pain and suffering are very legitimate.

Journey of Hope Counseling is a reaction to packaged counseling that supposedly gives you the perfect answers. If you are reading this, there is a good chance you already know there are not no easy answers. There are no quick fixes to heal a hurting heart.

In the end, the goal is to offer hope.

My counseling philosophy is to listen ... and to continue listening. I will ask as many questions as possible until I know what it is like to "walk a mile in your shoes."

I am indeed a Christian counselor. I firmly believe the exercise and experience of Christian faith is the best way to go about living life. In simple terms, I strive to point people toward God. I have found seeking God's direction in the context of a close relationship with Him often leads to freedom.

If you are seeking a counselor and like what your read, I encourage you to call (719) 395-2426 for more information to make an appointment.

    All the best,
